I have practiced holistic veterinary medicine for over 20 years, first in the Boston area and then in Portland where in 1998 I established Holistic Housecall Veterinary Service.
I offer:

for small animal patients, mainly dogs and cats. In treating both acute and chronic conditions I use a wide range of modalities and will work with you to find the best solution for your pet's health needs.
I have practiced veterinary acupuncture since becoming certified in 1991 but the dogs and cats brought into the clinic seemed frightened and could not relax for the treatment. I had a colleague who did housecall practice and it struck me that a true holistic practice could not occur in a traditional clinic setting but could happen more easily in the comfort of the pet's home and the idea of Holistic Housecall Veterinary Service was born.
During a housecall an examination can take place on your living room floor, a table, or on my lap. I can draw blood and do urinalysis, aspirate lumps for biopsy, clean a wound, evaluate lameness and many other things to help me diagnose and treat your pet. If you pet needs dentistry or other surgery I will refer to your conventional vet or a specialist.
I am a dedicated holistic practitioner and in most cases I can address a problem with a combination of supportive diet and gentle nutritional supplementation, acupuncture and homeopathic remedies. Of course both my conventional and holistic veterinary training allow me to evaluate your pet's health and I will combine modalities as necessary, all in the interest of your pet’s optimal health and well-being.
